Italian Serie A's best players of the last decade

Juventus has won 8 straight scudetto titles in the last one decade.
The Old Lady of Turin also won 4 consecutive domestic doubles between 2015 to 2018 under
Massimiliano Allegri - the only coach to achieved this feat in the top 5 European leagues till date.

We look at some of the best players that has graced the pitch of Serie A in the last decade (2010 - 2019)

Andrea Pirlo
He lived a golden era when he played at AC Milan during the  2000s. Pirlo is the epitome of coolness and gracefulness in football.
He hoovered up 4 Scudettos with the Old Lady and made four Serie A team of the year appearances. Also winning three Serie A footballer of the year awards in that circle.

Gianluigi Buffon
The Tuscan native was included in the Serie A team of the year five times, while he was also named player of the season in 2017 - the only goalkeeper to have won the accolade.
At the age of 39, he has won the Serie A title 9 times, 4 Coppa Italia titles and 5 Supercopa Italiana.
He had 288 clean sheets in the decade. At the national team level, he won the FIFA world cup with Italy in 2006.

Francesco Totti
The Roma legend rolled back the years across more than 200 outings during the decade in view, finding the net on 63 occasions and being crowned the Serie A  'assist leader' in 2013/14 season.
He is a world cup winner with the Italian national team, and also the all-time top scorer and appearance maker with AS Roma.

Giorgio Chiellini
Arguably the best defender in Serie A during the decade in view.
He is a complete beast on the field and an absolute gentleman off it. Chiellini was a key man in every single one of the Bianconeri's 8 consecutive scudettos, as underlined by his inclusion in the Serie A team of the year on four occasions (2013, 2015, 2016, 2018).

Christian Maggio
The former Napoli player was selected in the Serie A team of the year for the first 3 seasons of the decade. He won the Coppa Italia twice in 3 years, and bagged the 2014 Supercoppa Italiana as well.

Antonio Di Natale
He was 32 years at the beginning of the decade, and playing for a mid-table Udinese side.
Di Natale was crowned Serie A  topscorer in 2010 and 2011, and was part of the Serie A team of the year 3 times in a row.
He scored a staggering 125 goals during the decade, more than any other player in Serie A - a record he holds till date despite retiring in 2016.

Leonardo Bonucci
He had one disastrous season at AC Milan. Barring that blip in his career, he was a phenomenal ball-playing defender.
Alongside Chiellini and Barzagli, they formed a back-three that was almost impenetrable in Serie A, and was a part of seven scudettos winning sides in Turin. He was even crowned Serie A player of the year in 2016.

Daniele De Rossi
The striker turned midfield dynamo made 228 league appearances from 2010 till he left Roma at the end of 2018/19 season.
He is the second most capped AS Roma player of all-time with 616 appearances behind only Totti, and scored 43 goals for the Giallorossi.

Kalidou Koulibaly
The Senegalese man has established himself as one of the world's best defender since swapping Genk for Napoli in 2014.
Himself and his Napoli team-mates were runner up in Serie A in 2017/ 18 season with a club record of 91 points - the most for any second-place team in 3points per game era, while champion Juventus had 95 points.
